1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

By J. Chance

1967 Ford Mustang FastbackToughness, class, and beauty. This very cool 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback has the perfect balance of each. It has undergone a complete restoration and rebuild where it was set up to look great at shows, drive well on the street, and even handle a road coarse. If you don't believe us, one look at the suspension set up should convince you. Over a $100K was invested to make this one of the coolest and best performing street machines out there. It underwent a complete ground up restoration where every single part was rebuilt or replaced. The body is incredibly straight and is coated in a Merlot metallic paint that shines beautifully in the sun. There is no doubt that other peoples paint choices for their car have been influenced by this one. One look in person will have you asking for paint codes for your classic. All of the chrome and trim on the car is cleanly mounted in place and has a great finish.

Unique features include the taillight panel that has been Blacked out and really adds to that fast, tough look. All of the glass and windows are in good condition and have a slight tint. The car has great stance and rides on PSE GT40 10 spoke wheels that look perfect being slightly grayed with spinner style center caps. Under the hood of this muscle car is a 390 motor that has been finished out just as nicely as the body and interior. It was completely rebuilt with light head work and an added performance cam.

Everything has a very clean look and features like the Cobra Le Mans valve covers and air cleaner top it off well. Other components include the Edelbrock intake, ceramic coated headers and Griffin radiator to keep it running cool. A GM 4 speed with OD automatic transmission with adapter plate is in place which shifts well with no issues. The car has an awesome sound and like original the 2 1/2" exhaust is routed through the rear body panel but flowmasters with dual tips have been added giving it a custom appearance.

Wilwood 4 piston caliper disc brakes are found on all four corners bring the car to a smooth stop. A Currie Ford 9" rear end is in place which is fitted with 31 spline axles and 3:90 gears. Other nice additions include the Vera coil overs, Total Control power rack and pinion, MSD ignition system and custom wiring harness. The interior of the car uses the original design but incorporates some modern features like an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player and Beige Cadillac leather upholstery. This creates a very cool look almost as a modern rendering of a vintage interior. The highback Cadillac bucket seats are extremely comfortable and are easily adjustable. The dash utilizes custom classic instrument gauges, knobs, and switches with the AC vents inset into the dash as opposed to a under dash style unit. The original center console sits between the seats and provides extra storage while housing the chrome T-handle shifter. A hidden 4 point roll bar is also in place.Look around and you may find some other cool Mustangs up for sale but we can guarantee they aren't like this one.

Find the Best Classic Cars for Sale

Are you looking for classic cars for sale? Check out some of the top classic cars for sale on Rides.com! We feature only the best classic, muscle, antique, and collector cars currently available for sale. So what is the definition of a classic car? The Classic Car Club of America specifies that a true classic car must be between 20 and 40 years old. Anything older than that would be considered an antique.

It's kind of strange to think that a car built as early as 1993 could be considered a classic car. We believe the generally accepted range of classic cars is of the decades of the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's. Rides.com mainly focuses on finding those classic cars for sale from that era and bring them to you in an easy to find manner. Have a quick scroll through some of our classic cars for sale below and be sure to visit our marketplace to see thousands of classics right at your fingertips.

Chevrolet Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro is a “pony car” produced by GM (General Motors). It is undoubtedly one of the most iconic American muscle cars manufactured today. Camaros have been produced from the years 1967 up until 2002 when they were discontinued by Chevrolet. Production then resumed in 2009 up until present day.

The Chevrolet Camaro was intended to be a direct competitor of the Ford Mustang which, at the time was becoming a very popular car and icon of its time. There are five generations of Camaros which exist:

1st Generation: 1967 through 1969

1969 camaro - first generation

In September of 1966, the first Chevrolet Camaro rolled onto the showroom floor and forever made history. The first generation Camaro was available as a coupe or convertible. You could choose a wide array of options including engines that ranged from an 250 cubic inch in-line 6 cylinder all the way up to the famous 396 cubic inch V-8. Packages including RS, SS, and Z28 were also available. To this day, the first generation Chevrolet Camaros are still some of the most sought after American muscle cars and source of inspiration for the latest generation of Camaro.

2nd Generation: 1970 through 1981

1971 Camaro - second generation

In 1970 GM introduced the 2nd Generation of Camaro. To many people’s surprise, the body style was greatly transformed, but somehow still maintained the feel of “Camaro”. Due to many environmental and economic factors, some Camaros produced during this period lacked a lot of the muscle which characterized their existence. During the late 70’s the Z-28 was brought back to life and was once again a true muscle car.

3rd Generation: 1982 through 1992

1986 Camaro - third generation

In 1982 Chevy radically changed the look of the Camaro, but it was well received by the public. This generation of Camaro was quite a bit more modern, with a much lighter weight and fuel injection. One of the most notable Camaro versions of this era was the IROC-Z.

4th Generation: 1993 through 2002

1994 Camaro - fourth generation

In 1993 the 4th Generation was born with a much more rounded and aerodynamic style. Body styles included the standard coupe, T-tops, and convertibles. The Camaro made it to 35 years of production, but in 2002 GM axed the Camaro due to sluggish sales resulting from low demand for pony cars.

5th Generation: 2009 through Today

2010 Camaro - 5th generation

The modern-day Camaro is of the 5th Generation. You’ll notice the body style greatly resembles the first generation Camaros which was what the concept car was based on. In 2009 Chevy released the Camaro in SS, LT, and LS versions. The LS and LT’s sported a V6 putting out more than 300 HP, while the SS boasted a powerful V-8 putting out 400 horsepower. The fifth generation Camaro has won much acclaim and continues the tradition of the being one of America’s most iconic cars.
